That makes sense. The physical weapons filter is "hacked" regarding Retractable Blades (which are available far earlier than canon as far as BattleMechs are concerned) and the hatchet (which has an 'F' rating for the Succession Wars because only one 'Mech carried it). I'll alter the filter for the next build. Thanks!

SSW 0.5.52 is now out. Lots of changes to the code base (for us) and to equipment (for you). You can get it in any of the usual places.
+ added - Added Ultralight 'Mechs for Experimental Rules. - The basics of IndustrialMechs are in. - Added an option for formatting ammunition names when printing. - BAR is now printed on the sheet if needed (BAR < 10).
+ changed - Prettified the Text and Clipboard export. - Prettified the Criticals tab a bit. - Fixed an issue with the Print Options dialogue and not printing MW names.
There's a bunch of stuff missing from this list, but I haven't catalogued it just yet. Talons were added along with a bunch of Industrial physical weapons. Skyhigh has been hard at work on printing and improving the encapsulation of SSW, which will allow a Vee editor to be created with even more ease (the same should apply to an ASF editor if we get there). Arcangel is on Industrial equipment at the moment. Specter83 is still working on physical weapons, but he'll probably be done with those this week, we'll have to find something else fun for him to work on. And me? Still on bug-watch and steadily making those little changes you all keep asking for.
Should be back on track for AES, Apollo, A-V FCS, Mechanical Jump Boosters, and all the other fun stuff that got left on the wayside while IndustrialMechs were dealt with. Anyway, there are bound to be bugs with this one and your help is always appreciated. Enjoy!

I wonder if we will have Heavy Metal 6 now with SSW doing all the work...
********* Ben- So pieces of binary information are bits... And ternary ones are trits... But that's far enough, I think. When we get to base 4, we should call it quits.

Oh, I assure you we will. And it will undoubtedly be "better" than SSW because Rick will likely put all of the older equipment into it as well, whereas SSW will always stick with Tech Manual or newer.

Well until Heavy metal come out in a Mac format I am sticking with SSW, probably even then.

I very much doubt that HMP will ever have a Mac or Linux version considering it is written in Visual Basic. So, hopefully, SSW will be the premier 'Mech design program for users of alternate operating systems.
I'm glad to hear it's working on Mac OS, BTW.

Are you sure? I could only have them before 3068, which is non-coherent with the introduction year I read.

There's an option to "allow the retractable blade before cannon".

Although they are available far earlier, they were only really used on BattleMechs in the Clan Invasion Era, and then very late (3068 or so). So I would say that, as far as canon is concerned, the Retractable Blade should not be allowed on BattleMechs until that time, but as Arcangel pointed out, there is an option to allow them on B-'Mechs before canon.
In any case, the filter needs to be changed for IndustrialMechs anyway.

0.5.53 is now out, should fix some bugs we had with printing yesterday. Also, we got a Print Preview!
+ added - Added Physical Weapon-like Industrial equipment. - Added Print Preview option to File and Toolbar menus
+ changed - OmniMechs will now save/load their Jump Jet manufacturer names. - HTML and TXT export will now use the Ammo Print Format. - If an illegal character is in the name or model, you are now prompted before saving. - Structure re-work to disconnect the Mech from the GUI for use in outside programs - Corrected Industrial Mech Costs and BV.

Sorry for the delay, we've been wrangling some code for most of the last week. There's a lot of new gear in this one, most especially IndustrialMech stuff and the AES, as well as a new Open dialogue that'll allow for sorting and quick previews of the 'Mechs you have saved. There is still some equipment missing, but we'll do our best to get it done in a timely fashion. Due to the ruling about Artemis IV and V systems, we will be altering the program in the next build to accomodate, which will also open the door for MRM Apollo. This will likely invalidate older save files, but we'll write a batch converter to update them.
The same goes for the Open dialogue. You'll notice that older save files don't have some of the information in them, specifically Cost and BV. Both of those are calculated on the fly in the program so I figured there was no need to save them, now we have that functionality addded. You can simply resave your 'Mechs, or wait for a day or two until we have a batch resaver (which will also be used for the newer A-IV tags when those are finished).
Anyway, here's the changes, minus a few items:
+ added - Added Total Armor Points to the printout - Added AES System. - Added an Open Dialog that will list the mechs in the default directory showing name, tonnage, bv, cost, age, tech and allow for opening a file.
+ changed - Added shortened Print Names to most weapons, both Clan and Inner Sphere. - Fixed some minor equipment bugs.

I am having trouble Uploading files to Solars7. There was a problem writing or reading the file: F:\Autumn's Gaming\SSW/Dragon DRG-13Cthml(No such file or Directory)
I may be an update behind.
