There's a Weapons and Ammunition update available here: http://www.solarisskunkwerks.com/downloads
Adds in Primitive Prototype ACs and energy weapons. This will be included in the next version, at which point I'll take the file down.
Open the zip file and dump the two files in the SSW folder. Restart SSW and you're good to go.

Big bug: I am in Kubuntu and everything works fine until I decide to put the critics. At that point, everything freezes and I have to reboot my computer.

Are there any plans to add the Improved ER PPC to the equipment tables any time soon? Think it was included in the latest Jihad book...3076 or something like that.

It's already in. Try Experimental -> Succession Wars, or Experimental -> All Eras. It will soon be changed to Era Specific, though.

Thanks for the point in the right direction. I am working on "proto type omnis", stuff the clans would have worked on immediately following the concept break thru on the MCY. As such I locked my era in as SL, which wouldnt let me get to the EER PPC.
Thanks again :D

Not a problem. If you're ever wondering whether a piece of equipment is in the program, switch it to Era Specific (which includes Experimental), All Eras (non-canon), and to really see everything switch it to Mixed Tech.

SSW 0.6.20 is now out. This one mainly deals with functionality and some new equipment.
The right-click context menu has been expanded and consolidated. The controls that use it now share a single menu between them that selects appropriate controls based on what you right-clicked on. So now, from the Equipment tab, you can add four medium lasers, right-click on one of them, and Selective Allocate them. They won't show in a collection like they do on the Crits tab, but they will be in one (programmatic issues prevent this and, although I could do it, this update wouldn't be out for another week or two while I wrangled a ton of code). The affected controls are the Selected Equipment list on the Equipment tab and every list on the Crits tab.
The previous "Get Info" context menu item has been renamed to "Details".
Not sure if anyone knew, but you can (and have been able to for awhile) select multiple pieces of equipment in the Selected Equipment list, using shift and tab as normal, and remove them all at the same time.
Vehicular Grenade Launchers are now in, with the right-click menu support for them. You cannot access their arc and ammo controls until they are placed in a torso since we have to know where they are first. Try it out. By the way, VGLs are in Artillery per their type of "AE".
Finer controls and attention have been paid to older save file versions with regard to Artemis-IV systems. It will now tell you if a loadout uses A-IV, and will load the file without A-IV so you can properly fix it. Once it is saved again, the save file version will be updated.
The TRO formats, both TEXT and HTML, now consolidate equipment and ammunition by location. Splittable items, MG Arrays, and Multi-Slot Systems like a Null Sig will never consolidate. The heat of a piece of equipment has also been added to both formats and, although available in the HTML export since I wrote it, is now in the default template. Also, the fluff section at the top will not report weapons in different arcs as different equipment but will consolidate them without regards to arc (rather by type and manufacturer as intended). So you won't see stuff like this anymore:
3 Martell Medium Lasers
2 Starflash Medium Lasers
1 Starflash (R) Medium Laser
But instead see this:
3 Martell Medium Lasers
3 Starflash Medium Lasers
Primitive Engines are no longer available to all units as before. I forgot to set a simple flag in them, doh!
Maximum Jump MP is now restricted by maximum Run MP when using Hardened Armor per recent errata.
Lastly, I fixed a math issue we've been having for a long time. In Java I was using floats instead of doubles in some misguided attempt to reduce program overhead. Well, it caused more problems than it solved. I now know better and have changed all floats to double-precision. Your engine costs should now round correctly.
So far we've had no success with printing multiple 'Mechs to a single file and the memory leak, but rest assured we're still looking into it.
We hope you enjoy this release. As always, let me know if anything is going weird and thank you for the suggestions and comments.
In the immediate future: Multiple 'Mech printing memory bug. Caseless ACs (from right-click, like insulators and capacitors). Additional missing chassis equipment (FH Ejection, Partial Wing, etc...). Additional missing equipment. Fractional Accounting (should be quick and easy). Finally, the dreaded Patchwork Armor (groan... gonna take a week at least).
In short, finish off Tac Ops ASAP so we can get on to Strat Ops Quirks and revamping that Fluff tab. Then maybe we can call this "production" software.

Made a mistake with that release, if you just downloaded, go get it again. Sorry.

Next build should be out by the end of the week. I've got a server to build tomorrow and a bunch of other work, but it looks fairly dead.
So far, I've fixed Saving and exporting to work in a consistent manner, with appropriate dialogues and everything. Also, a problem with laser (and, I presume, compact) heatsinks and the recordsheet has been fixed. Plus a bunch of other stuff from around the web that needed to be fixed, mostly minor.
I've been toying with the idea of having SSW poll www.solarisskunkwerks.com after startup to see if a new file version is up. It can then notify you (unobtrusively. How I hate notifiers that get in your face) that there is a new version available for download. I've got some code from another program I wrote that can pull the source code from an HTML page so it can be parsed. I'll make sure the polling and timeout will be in the background so you won't have to worry about performance.
What do you guys think? The polling-for-version stuff shouldn't take that long and I can probably get another few pieces of equipment into the next one alongside that.
