If you want to help, get yourself a copy of the latest JDK with Netbeans (you can use any IDE, that's just what I use) and sign up on Sourceforge. I'll be adding in the prelim code tomorrow.

Sounds good to me. I'm sick of working with Objective C, Cocoa Touch and XCode...and if I have to answer one more question about UI I'll explode. Does anyone even care about native SDK? bleh...

We've been busy.

SSW 0.6.25 is now out.

- Added an ammo chooser to the printing functions.
- Added an ammo name formatter for export in addition to the print format.
- You can now view either the internal points or maximum armor on the Armor tab.
- Fully implemented variable tonnage equipment.
- Added Chassis (Battlemech/IndustrialMech) and Motive (Biped/Quad) to the Open dialog.
- You can now change the techbase of an OmniMech loadout to Mixed (requires Experimental Rules).
- You can now change the Source field for an OmniMech loadout.
- Added Caseless ACs (from right-click menu, like PPC caps and laser insulators)
- Added a Chat Line output like 90T 4/6/0 Fusion, Endo-Steel, 15.0T Ferro-Fibrous, 1 LRM-10, 1 Gauss Rifle, 1 Streak SRM-4, 2 ER Medium Laser

SSW 0.6.26 is now out. I should have waited on last night's build, but I get impatient sometimes.

Fixed some GUI bugs with the Rules Level and Techbase that should never have happened and some weird things brought to my attention by Maelwys.

Skyhigh did some work on the Open dialogue and it's filters, looking great, he's still working on the Force window and the changes should show up in the next build (or two).

The Partial Wing is now fully in and working (Clan Invasion Era -> Experimental Tech -> Clan or Mixed)

You can now move around Stealth Armor. Ammo chooser has been added to Single print and now shows you the location and index of the ammo in question. And some other minor things. The Ammo Chooser still needs some work to be fully awesome, but it should suffice for now. Rest assured that's a big item on my list (as are the rest of the Tac Ops junk).

Is there a way to allow us to select the faction within SSW?

As of 6.20 you have Lady Cain mentioned twice in the credits. Was she twice as helpful than the rest of us or something?

Toodles - Claudius
Techwarrior - Griffin
Bombast - Evocator
Darkwarrior - Princeton
Cuchulainn - Mugger

I'll talk to Sky about that, maybe allow your uploads to work that way?

I fixed the credit screens last build. And yes, I saw that. Must have been a typo.

I tried downloading the file and after I extracted it, it wouldn't run due to lacking 'main' so I presume it is missing the main execution file or a file of some sort

That usually indicates a bad install of Java. You may want to update Java to the latest 1.6 as well, as the problem could be related to Java version.

Went snooping around the web the other day. LiS, did you know that SSW is held as being better than HMPro in most regards? How friggin' awesome is that?!

Anywho, I just figured I'd drop in and let that one rip. Nice to be able to say "Yeah, that dude that dreamed up SSW, I KNOW THAT GUY!"

That's pretty awesome, but you have to remember that such sentiments really depend on where you are. Over on the CBT forums, SSW is either a godsend or a complete pariah that is attempting to usurp HMP's throne. Either way, I'm just happy that people find it useful.

In my mind, SSW and HMP are not competitors (many people would dispute this) because SSW is open source and cross-platform, while HMP is closed-source and Windows (or requires a Windows Virtual Machine) only. Those two distinctions, despite the two programs doing basically the same thing, really set them apart.

That's funny. That's exactly what I told my friends after their first gig in town.

Keep in mind that SSW is a team effort at this time; Skyhigh, Specter83 from the CBT forums, Arcangel, and a few others, not to mention all the fans who helped put together the TROs (and Maelwys who is double-checking them) made major contributions to the program. I may still be "lead programmer", but I can't take credit for the whole thing anymore (and I'm pretty damn glad of that! )

Anyway, thanks for the kind words! We'll try to keep up the good work!
