I think I found a bug. I put a head turret on a 'mech that holds 4 er medium lasers and the weight is the same with or without the turret mechanism.

Did you right-click each weapon and add them to the turret?

Just to.let you guys know, I will be fixing the exporters for this next build. The errors are starting to hack me off.

NP. I know the controls are a bit obscure, but Tac Ops is mute on whether stuff in a location belongs to a turret unless designated as such. So you could have two ERMLs in a "top hat" turret and a LPPC sticking out of the 'Mech's face (outside the turret).

I found another head turret bug. I have a 3 LMG array in the head and I keep trying to attach it to the turret, but every time I reload it the guns are not attached to the turret. Is there any way to attach the whole array to the turret so that it saves and so that you only have to attach it to the turret once instead of 3 times (once per MG)?

Yeah, I'll have to check that. Weird situation all around, I guess.

Great news! SSW 0.6.69 is now out.

This one will munge up your preferences so you may want to take note of what you have set in the older version before overwriting with this one. Also note that some save files will be invalidated by new errata, so have a backup folder of the old SSW handy to edit your 'Mechs if needed.

Sky will have to explain his changes.

I've added a wider GUI (requires restart), fixed a ton of issues, and probably invalidated some save files with some new errata (modular armor only being allowed one per location, most specifically). PPC Capacitors now make the weapon explosive, this will be reported in BV correctly. Anything mentioned in a reply from me was fixed. uhm... I think that's it. Have fun and let us know if you have any issues!

Now, in other news:
SSW will be going on hiatus. SSW specifically, but not the suite itself. We've got to make some major changes to the back end to support all the units you can build in the Battletech rules. Unfortunately, when I started this program a few years back, I didn't think ahead so this will likely be a major headache.

However, when making these changes I am also going to add in support for custom equipment (and an editor will eventually follow) as well as try to move as much equipment out of specialized code as possible (for instance, your targeting computer and Null Sig system will hopefully be selectable equipment rather than checkboxes). If it's at all possible, which I'm sure it is, this will allow you users to alter or add as much munchy crap as you want and also ease up on us for future equipment. I'm also considering a method whereby the engines, gyros, stuff like that will be kept in editor-usable files, but that may be a ways off (making this work is mainly a problem with the way I code).

If we can avoid it, we will not be releasing a new SSW until Solaris Armor Werks (SAW) is ready for public alpha testing. You'll also see a return of the Changelog, since we've been pretty retarded about it lately (more my fault than anyone else's).

Sweet, I've been looking forward to playing around with the new tech in some vees. Need to flesh out a few armories.

Great job to the team! We do appreciate all that you've done in making this program for all of us to use.

I was just messing around with SSW and i found this.

If you give an IS mech jump boosters, then change the tech to Clan, the weight for the boosters is still gone, but the boosters don't take up any crits.

There is a 0.6.70 update out here:

http://www.solarisskunkwerks.com/downloads

This fixes some issues that were mentioned and we decided to do this before breaking the program with the new changes. You MUST have a previous version of the program installed, preferably 0.6.69. Simply overwrite the existing SSW folder with the one in the archive to bring the program up to 0.6.70.

Enjoy!

First, love the program and cant wait for SAW to go in to open beta. =)

I was making mech today with MML 3 launchers, when i went into ammo there where no swarm or thunder there. Now i am sure they can be used buy MML launchers, as i remember in tech-manual it states some thing like that was one of the reasons the launchers where created. To take advantage of special ammo types

Other then that, keep up the good work.

Swarm and Thunder rounds are Advanced tech, I do believe.

You'll also notice that, when you go to print a 'Mech, you can change out the ammo as desired. Ammo is a matter for the pilot to choose based on what the quartermaster has in stock, it is not something that traditionally comes "packaged" with the 'Mech. That fact is now reflected in the new cost rules.
