Overview
The Dussack Derives its name from a 16th century commoners Knife, used for field work hunting and defence. Made from a single piece of steel it was a no frills weapon favored for its simplicity and low cost. The DSK-12B is both cheap and simple to maintain. Built at Tolsan WarWorks C Plant on the planet Furillo (Later bought out by Defiance Industries).

The designers at Tolsan WarWorks were tasked with creating a new medium Battlemech that could support heavier units on the battle field. After several months of secret meetings and long hours of meetings, they presented a Medium Mech to the board of directors, the C.E.O. of Tolsan was not happy with this design and fired the head engineer and a slew of others who worked on the project. Needless to say the Dussack was shelved for several years. deemed to be to slow for a medium weight mech. but after 3 years a new engineer at Tolsan found the plans and re presented it as a garrison defence and direct fire support platform for city defence. The C.E.O. nearly blew a gasket untill the engineer also said it would make a bundle if sold on the mercinary market . After a brief meeting it was agreed to give the Dussack a small run to see if there was a market nitch for such a machine.

Capabilities
The Dussack is quite well armed for a medium Mech supporting a GM Whirlewind cannon imported from trellshire heavy industries, a Donal Particle cannon and to round out the weapons load are two Tolsan trufire Medium lasers, witch by all accounts are truly excellent weapons. Actuators for the legs are off the shelf standard medium mech leg units. But the arm actuators are higly modified the engineers tried to give the mech a better fire arc for the mech (this was a change from the first presentation to the C.E.O. a suggestion made by the board of directors). This caused problems with the instilation of the Whirlewind cannon wich had to be installed upside down causing the ammo chutes to be elongated and rerouted to feed the weapon, causing the spent shell casings to be ejected out of the top of the right arm, if the warrior didnt shake the right arm after 3 or 4 shots the spent shell cases could jame in the elbow, the warrior would then eather bang the right arm on somthing or egress and unjam the blockage by hand. The other Major problem with the mech was the Cast armor, verry easy to produce but difficult to repair, even in a depot. The armor for the torso was cast in a clam shell fashon and then welded togeather befor the armor for the arms and legs was installed, so in order to replace damaged torso armor the mech had to be stripped to the internal structure ( there is a prety reliable quote from a tech that sums up the required mantenance for the dussack. "Im glad this thing is so cheap and reliable if it wern't I would be out of a job!") other than thoes two major flaws the mech is easy to operate and and all other equipment is easy to maintain.

I second the call for more fluff, but what was there was pretty well written, nice work. For the 'Mech itself, you don't need a searchlight as the first is technically "free", I'd suggest replacing it with a small laser or something (if you want to, go ahead and do that, I'll look the other way). Still, the heat curve is nice and I think it'll do very well.

Interesting mix for second line units or mercenaries running low on budget.
It might just miss some Jump Jets to do its job in cities.

Nice job.

Yeah, the fluff is a bit sparse, but what there is could serve as an excellent starting point. The mech itself is a good choice for mercenary outfits and secondline forces.
Good work

Nice work. It's a little light on fluff, but I like the last line. =)
