&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; color: black; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"&gt;According to COMSTAR most of the population was located on Nialand.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;Nialand has two large mountain ranges.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The eastern range is known as the Macawe Highlands, which has a large coastal plain that reaches out to The Jade Expanse.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The western range is known as Lamset Mountain, which has a smaller coastal plain that reaches into The Peaceful Depths.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;Between the two mountain ranges is the Disriden Plains, vast expansive grassland.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;There are four major settlements on Nialand.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;In the north is Krapolis, the planetary capital, which also has the largest of the two spaceports, and also the location of the COMSTAR HPG Station.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;To the west on the shores of The Peaceful Depths, is Tromond, was largely a vacation location.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The eastern settlement on the shore of The Jade Expanse, this was an industrial center, known as Brusgend. &lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;The southern settlement is also an industrial center, and known as Klathe. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; color: black; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"&gt;There was some population on Brezoth but it was largely filled with the vast area called The Silent Wilds.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;Most of Brezoth was used trials of the battlemechs produced on the planet.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The western shores of Brezoth which touches The Jade Expanse, has the only major population center of continent.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;It has a small spaceport which was mainly used for transporting machines from Nialand to the proving grounds on Brezoth.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The name of this settlement is called Akata.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; color: black; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"&gt;Chelyabinsk was fairly self-contained manufacturing base.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;A whole battlemech could be manufactured from ground to finished product without outside trade.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;Most of the manufacturing took place on the western continent of Nialand.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Scenerio idea box</title>
      <description>Free floating ideas for scenerios.&#xD;

Protect the dropship.&#xD;
Dropship is prepping to take off.&#xD;
So of course stopping it from taking off is on the attackers to do list.&#xD;
&#xD;
The gimmick.  Attacker is aerospace fighters and maybe some airborne infantry.  Defender is appropriate ground units.&#xD;
&#xD;
&#xD;
Hidden base.&#xD;
Transmissions from where there should be none.  Time to send in scouts.&#xD;
Main gimmick for me is setting the terrain to impossible.  Like the entire play area is heavy woods.  Secondary themes for me is the hidden research base angle, which lets me bring out some of the weirder units ive made.  Like cyborg dinosaur beast mounted infantry.&#xD;

      <title>Custom Senario weapon- comments and criticisms needed!</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Hey dudes, I have a "superweapon" style gun I need to stat out properly based on its implications, and I'm looking for opinions. I found the concept of a "nuclear pulse cannon" from reading old Scifi (I think I way reading Heinlein) wherein ships carried "cannons" that were little more than mirrored "firing chambers"- the idea being, that a nuclear weapon would be detonated within this mirrored chamber and directed out a hole or barrel (similar to how radiation therapy is done, at it's core), 'firing' the nuclear blast into a jet. It's principles are also being considered for many concepts of interplanetary ships, as "nuclear pulse propulsion" is one of the few ways we know of that can propel a ship to C-fractional velocities.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The fluff is that the Rim Worlds Republic- of course- realized that the star league would royally (heh) push their shit in once terra was conquered, and the Nuclear Pulse Cannon was one of the few "wonder weapons" that was successfully created. Though it was little more than a specialized breach-loading cannon that "fired" nuclear rounds, such a weapon cannot be shot down like missiles against AMS and have some ability to fire into orbit; and since the weapon is firing a nuclear charge instead of launching one and relying on the shockwave, it could be mounted on most any vehicle and could avoid some of the harsher issues of fallout.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;It's problem is that naturally it's not nearly as powerful as typical atomics, it makes the firing unit radioactive, the cannons themselves have to be readily replaced, and it's a direct-fire artillery weapon. Such a tool would also "normalize" the use of such nuclear weapons which I feel is the reason why the project was taken and hidden by a handful within the Republic who had more sense than the others (and is ironic)- and that's how its found by the players, in a bunker stashed on an airless rock along with it's attendant mech.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;Rules wise, I'm gonna use Arrow IV launchers and tons of ammo as baselines but jack the heat up to 15-20 points per firing, plus 1D6 for any radiated heat from the munition. Since BT's ammo count per ton is wonky, 1 "ton" of munitions equals 3 rounds of charges, and after 20 uses the whole barrel and assembly has to be replaced- which is enormously difficult since the gun becomes radioactive due to firing.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;My problem is that I don't know what I should do for damage. I was thinking Area of Affect with the blast spreading out in a cone from the struck unit, with minimum of 25 damage applied with +2D6 heat to it but only if they are a sealed unit, i.e. battlemech/aerospace fighter/dropship ecetra but DOUBLE if the unit lacks any sealing, since you know, you just got nuked in the damn face. But in a weird sense, I don't know if that's *enough* and if it doesn't hit that sweet BFG-like spot where this heavy weapon HAS to be used, but each shot still has to be shepherded and cared for, if my players decide to actually use it. Thoughts? Comments? I'm all ears, even if you hate it.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Railgun varient</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;I have a great idea but it involves all the experimental stuff I've heard and read about IRL as well as other SCI-FI and BT itself. first off gauss is a very unstable and inefficient way to use electricity to launch a projectile and takes extra work to sync up each coil. a railgun needs a tougher barrel to keep from splitting itself apart but has no need for moving parts nor in particular for a special timing/syncing system to work properly. you just run the charge on each side of the barrel and the opposing charge pushes magnetically inclined projectiles out.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;now caseless and pulse technology; not pulse-&lt;em&gt;lasers&lt;/em&gt; but the idea of igniting the propellant from all sides at once via electric charge. from what I've read about caseless munitions that would be an ideal combination instead of adding a mildly volatile primer cap. also pulse ignition is vastly more efficient and is being experimented (IRL) on for jet propulsion as well (the aurora project, supposedly. other more official public research is being seen nowadays too though, again IRL)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;now I want to talk about custom munition. think of a projectile shaped like the so-called aurora of one of the SCRAAM-jet concepts. build something that looks like that with a special blend of hardened metals and a diamond point on the nose capping a hollow-core through the projectile that a pulse laser shoots through as the propellant gets zapped. this would superheat the core and the flightpath in front of the projectile possibly even softening up the target as well if within effective range which would probly be within minimum range. now back to the special blend of hardened alloy; using the type of machinery used to condense carbon into industrial diamonds to make the initial projectile -before coring it out and adding a diamond-point- as compact, rigid and hard as possible the design-team managed to figure a way to make it so that the metals in the heated core would ignite as a plasma rocket adding still more to this projectiles already extreme velocity.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;so with all that fluff I want to make all the specs for such a weapon and figured I'd put it on the board as a creative line of thought. I probly don't need to figure the pricing (just assume astronomical, and not for sale) but I'd like to try and figure how I should equate this into Tonnage and critspace, BV, and maybe get some idea's as to where I should place the range and damage values at.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>The Defense of Fort Birkenhead</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;The Good news is you're the new company commander.&lt;br&gt;The Bad news is that your lance is all that is left of the company.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Your former Base commander seemed to have things under control, really strange invaders had landed, stated they were here to take over the planet and demanded some form of ritual combat.&amp;nbsp; So of course your commander put command detonated mines over the chosen battlefield.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The invaders are hard to understand, but you get the impression that Dezgra, Surat, and Freebirth of definitely epithets.&amp;nbsp; Annihilation is another word that sticks out.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Most of the base is gone.&amp;nbsp; Prisoners are not being taken.&amp;nbsp; They even burned down the hospital with everyone in it.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Your Lance was tasked with covering the evacuation of the dependents from base housing.&amp;nbsp; Enemy mechs are heading for your location.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;This scenario is a work in progress.&amp;nbsp; Its also thought up in terms of Alpha Strike.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The basic Idea is for the Defending Inner Sphere forces to hold off a Clan attack long enough for civilians to be evacuated.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;The defender should have:&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;4 Mechs with a total mass of 220 tons or less.&lt;br&gt;4 Units of Civilians to evacuate.&amp;nbsp; (Roll 1D6 for each unit of Civilians When attempting to board an APC.&amp;nbsp; On a 4+ the attempt is successful.)&lt;br&gt;4 APC's&lt;br&gt;2 Platoons of infantry (A platoon of infantry within 2 inches of a Civillian unit gives a +2 bonus for their boarding role.)&lt;br&gt;2 Heavy APC's for the infantry&lt;br&gt;1 Suicide Bomber if you want to be fancy. (He was an expectant father.&amp;nbsp; His wife had a doctors appointment today.)&amp;nbsp; (This unit is deployed as a hidden unit anywhere on the map.&amp;nbsp; It should have a move of 10" wheeled, 1 structure, and deals 5 points of damage as a booby trap.&amp;nbsp; Clans will not notice it until it moves.)&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Additional Possible Ideas.&lt;br&gt;Combat engineer points.&lt;br&gt;Additional dirty tricks, Mine Fields, defense turrets, bridges that collapse, buildings that collapse on people.&amp;nbsp; Vehicular hulks that suddenly start shooting. Be creative.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Offensive forces:&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;3 OmniMechs (total of upto 155 tons)&lt;br&gt;2 points of Battle armor&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Trickery from the clans.&lt;br&gt;A: The defender is not supposed to know about the battle armor until it dismounts from the the omni mech its riding on.&lt;br&gt;B: If the Clans lose 2 mechs, they can call for 1 mech and 1 battle armor worth of reinforcements (The forces from their previous internal bidding before winning the batchall for the rights of killing this group of Surats.)&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;ROE for the clans.&lt;br&gt;So long as an opposing combat unit is within range, they will focus on that target over civilian units.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Set up.&lt;br&gt;The battle field should include.&lt;br&gt;A central administration center. at least 3 buildings.&amp;nbsp; Grocery store, School, Administration building.&lt;br&gt;At least 2 residential sections. at least 3 Apartment buildings in one, At least 4 houses in the other. (Enlisted vs officer housing.)&lt;br&gt;Roads connecting these sub sections logically.&lt;br&gt;A hardened guard tower or bunker near the road on the defenders side of the map.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;Maybe some Forests surrounding the location.&lt;br&gt;Maybe a river with some bridges.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The back edge of the base should be at least 8-12 inches from the back edge of the defenders starting point.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Defender's goal is to evacuate all civilians off the field.&amp;nbsp; Once they exit the field the defender may withdraw any unit that is faster then surviving clan units.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Attackers goal is to kill everything.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The defender Wins if they defeat all attackers, or if they manage to withdraw at least 1 civilian unit in an APC faster then the surviving clan units.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Attacker wins unconditionally if they destroy all combat units and retain a unit faster then the civilian APC's&lt;br&gt;The attacker will declare victory if they destroy all opposing combat forces.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>For a Campaign</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;I am running a campaign, and It's a bit difficult to get to my actual books at the moment..&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So I was hoping that maybe some one here could help me with a list of "Vintage" Star League cannon designs.&amp;nbsp; I'm looking&amp;nbsp; for Assault mechs.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The only ones I can really remember being used by the Star League were the Atlas and the Crab.&amp;nbsp; LOL&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; ( and I may be wrong about the Atlas)&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; (And the crab is only a 50 ton)&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So....
