Overview:

With the coming of the Clan Invation it caught most militaries in the inner sphere off guard. As the Waves of the Clan Invation wore on more and more the old mechs proved obsolete. So the AFFC in order to keep more units at the front instructed their Depots to repair and retrofit as much new tech into existing battlemechs as soon as possible. Coventry which was being used as a rallying point against the Jade Falcon Clan and was thought to be the a target started to refit what ever mechs were on planet. The AFFC Depot on planet kept it quick and simple limiting the refits to basic electriconics, heat sinks, some weapons, and upgrading the armor to ferro-fiberous.


Capabilities:

The Battlemaster BLR-1DF (F for Field Refit) is the common Coventry Refit for the Davion Version of the Battlemaster. Since there was less weapons on the Davion Battlemaster the team focused on getting rid of the Ammo Dependant Machine Guns, they were replaced by left over Medium Lasers from the Battlemaster BLR-1F refits. Ferro-Fiberous Armor was introducted to bring the machines armor levels to Maximum. The PPC was upgraded to an ER version. Also HildCo Model 12 Jumpjets were installed in the machines feet to improve its mobility. As a final upgrade both Guardian ECM Suite and a Beagle Active Probe were fitted to also make the unit function as part of a headquarters unit. The Heat gain is slower like the refit to the Battlemaster BLR-1F.


Configuration / Variants:

The Battlemaster BLR-1SF is the refitted version of the Battlemaster BLR-1S. The Battlemaster BLR-1F is the refiited version of the Battlemaster BLR-1G.


Battle History:

Fought in the 3052 Clan Fighting, and still in front line service. Most private Mechwarriors want this design as their personal ride over the more expensive and newer Battlemaster BLR-3S and BLR-3M models. But slowly the BLR-1DS is being displaced by the BLR-3S model in AFFS Service.


Deployment:

The Battlemaster BLR-1DF was deployed to mainly Davion Regiments in the AFFC. As the Clan War slowed down the survivors were handed down to militias and new Battlemaster BLR-3S have been used to replace them.

you're actually a half ton short of max armor, so maybe the fluff should say 'near maximum' armor. Also the PPC and the lasers replacing the machine guns switched sides, that should be addressed. Again the mech could be improved by removing three heat sinks and replacing them with more medium lasers.

The Battlemaster BLR-1F (F for field refit) has greatly benefited from the Coventry Depot works. The Double Heat Sinks keep the heat gain to a minimum when firing all weapons, but in most cases it has no heat gain. With the introduction of Ferro-Fiberous Armor the skin of this beast has gotten tougher. The SRM-6 Launcher has been replaced with two Streak SRm-2 Lunchers, dropping some fire power but making up with better damage per salvo rates. Long gone are the machine guns which hampered the design. Also the new ER PPC gives the beastie good hitting power at range.

Not bad, except for the wasteful amount of heatsinks. Dropping to 16 sinks lets you add 4 more medium lasers, which are more heat efficient and do more damage than the PPC at short range.

The Battlemaster BLR-1SF (F for Field Refit) is the Coventry Refit for the Steiner Fire Support Version of the Battlemaster. The Addition of Double Heat Sinks have made the Heat Sigunature of this mech zero. The Ferro-Fiberous Armor has brought its protection to maximum levels. The Two side torso locations have since been CASEd to protect the ammo stored there. Next the engineers went in and redid the electronics system, both the LRM5 and LRM15 Launchers have recieved Aretmis IV FCS and the SRM2 Launcers have been upgraded to Streak SRM-2s. Ammunanation Load out has also been increased for improved stamina on the battle field.

The streaks switched, as in the original one wwas in the right arm and one was in the left torso. The two tons of ammo also puzzles me. One ton of ammo is too much for 2 streak racks, so why put another potential 100 damage waiting to take a critical hit? Add that to the fact that removing the second ton of ammo would let you remove one CASE, and that ammo becomes a liability.

The King Crab KGC-0000F (F for Field Refit) is the refit for the rare King Crab Assault Mech that still exists in AFFC Regiments. Never a top on the list of machines to rebuild the only change was fitting of Double Heatsinks to offset the Heat gain of the mech.

Battle History:

Has seen limited service against Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Steel Viper.


Deployment:

Several are deployed in AFFC Regiments, mostly in Steiner Origin Regiments.

An interesting take on the King Crab. It still has the same flaws (it's depressingly slow, the main weapons are short ranged, each AC 20 only has 5 shots), but it would stand a better chance against Clanners than an old King Crab.

Overview:

With the comming of the Clans, the decoding of the Helm Memory Core, and the admittance of Wolf Dragoons as being from the Clans much of LOSTECH was rediscovered by the inner sphere.   One of these items that returned was the Gauss Rifle.   The Prime Contractor for the brand new Gauss Rifle was purposely located deep in Federated Suns Territory to protect it from Clan Incursions.   The Poland Main Model A Gauss Rifle being produced on New Styris was late getting to Coventry during Project Refit, the first shipments arriving in 3052.   Most of the designs for Project Refit had been finalized and so the Gauss Rifles sat not being incorpated.   Also to the Gauss Rifle's disadvantage was that many of the Engineers at the Coventry AFFC Depot didn't know what the Gauss Rifle was capable of or the requirements that it needed to function on a Battlemech.   Once this was sorted out the advantage of the Gauss Rifle was determined and Project Gauss was launched, in order to increase the number of Gauss Rifles in the ranks of the Armed Forces Federated Commonwealth.

Battle History:

The Battlemaster BLR-1DG were deployed to frontline AFFC RCTs after the end of the Clan Wars.   They supplemented the new refitted Battlemaster BLR-1DFs and the original BLR-1Ds.   The first combat the Battllemaster BLR-1DGs saw was in the Clan Jade Falcons incursion to Coventry.   Which they preformed well.   They were later deployed to the Clan Smoke Jaguar Occupation Zone as part of Operation Bulldog.

Variants:

Battlemaster BLR-1G is the baseline version.
Battlemaster BLR-1S is the Steiner Version with a LRM-5, LRM-15, and twin SRM-2 replacing the PPC and SRM-6.
Battlemaster BLR-1D is the Davion version which replaces the SRM-6 for more heatsinks.
Battlemaster BLR-3M is the new built Marik Version based on the BLR-1G.
Battlemaster BLR-3S is the new built Steiner Version based on the BLR-1S.
Battlemaster BLR-3D is the new built Davion Version built by Ravenna Polytechnic Industries.
Battlemaster BLR-1F is the Coventry AFFC Depot retrofit of the BLR-1G (Project Refit).
Battlemaster BLR-1SF is the Coventry AFFC Depot retrofit of the BLR-1S (Project Refit).
Battlemaster BLR-1DF is the Coventry AFFC Depot retrofit of the BLR-1D (Project Refit).

A rather similar damage profile with added mobility, armor and electronics.
For only 20% more in price, you have a good bodyguard 'Mech for your commanding officer.
Nice job.

while fewer medium lasers it has a great punch ( from the Gauss) and a better heat dissipation. the JJ add to its firepower but the BAP is of limited use on an assault mech

A deadly and efficient command 'Mech. The addition of the jump jets makes for a much deadlier design as well as the increased armor and better fire generation abilities. Nice upgrade.

With the comming of the Clans, the decoding of the Helm Memory Core, and the admittance of Wolf Dragoons as being from the Clans much of LOSTECH was rediscovered by the inner sphere.   One of these items that returned was the Gauss Rifle.   The Prime Contractor for the brand new Gauss Rifle was purposely located deep in Federated Suns Territory to protect it from Clan Incursions.   The Poland Main Model A Gauss Rifle being produced on New Styris was late getting to Coventry during Project Refit, the first shipments arriving in 3052.   Most of the designs for Project Refit had been finalized and so the Gauss Rifles sat not being incorpated.   Also to the Gauss Rifle's disadvantage was that many of the Engineers at the Coventry AFFC Depot didn't know what the Gauss Rifle was capable of or the requirements that it needed to function on a Battlemech.   Once this was sorted out the advantage of the Gauss Rifle was determined and Project Gauss was launched, in order to increase the number of Gauss Rifles in the ranks of the Armed Forces Federated Commonwealth.

Capabilities:

The Battlemaster BLR-1GG (G for Gauss) has greatly benefited from the Coventry Depot works.   The Double Heat Sinks keep the heat gain to a minimum when firing all weapons, but in most cases it has no heat gain.   With the introduction of Ferro-Fiberous Armor the skin of this beast has gotten tougher.   The SRM-6 Launcher has been replaced with two Streak SRM-2 Lunchers, dropping some fire power but making up with better damage per salvo rates.   Long gone are the machine guns which hampered the design.   Also the new Gauss Rifle gives the beastie good hitting power at range.

Battle History:

The Battlemaster BLR-1GGG were deployed to frontline AFFC RCTs after the end of the Clan Wars.   They supplemented the new refitted Battlemaster BLR-1Fs and the original BLR-1Gs.   The first combat the Battllemaster BLR-1GGs saw was in the Clan Jade Falcons incursion to Coventry.   Which they preformed well.   They were later deployed to the Clan Smoke Jaguar Occupation Zone as part of Operation Bulldog.

well its really semantics and prefrence but crit space wise the streak 6 is more economical than the 3 streak 2s while the 3 streak 2s can keep functionality after a critical hit or lost limb if they were spread out but for the threat factor id rather see the 6 on an 85 ton mech than a few pea shooters but very good job on the design

I disagree that a SSRM-6 is better than 3 SSRM-2s. You'll get more missile launches with the SSRM-2s. More little hits is better than occasional big hits in this case, I believe.

I like it - and given the inservice dates a SSRM-6 wouldn't work. Perhaps as a later variant, but not given it was introduced at the start of the Clan Invasion

Great not quite depot refit - keeps the durability, increases the punch, range and staying power.

I Agree is a nice Conversion LIke DethOkay said the SSRM6 would be better than the three SSRM2 plus you use less space and generate less heat also. See with the Three SSRM2s you are using 3 slots and generate 6 heat but with the SSRM6 you use 2 slots and generate only 4 heat. Other than that good Design.

More firepower at all ranges but I have to agree with DethOkay: 3 SSRM-2 will never make the same impact as a SRM-6. I think you should replace the SSRM-2 with an Artemis IV SRM-6.

I nice conversion of the battlemester design, it has a much better punch at range, and heavier firepower at close range. the problem with SSRms is mounting multiple smaller launchers doesnt give you a decient crunch factor, it would be better to mount a SSrm6

To be more serious, this BattleMaster has everything you might need: firepower, armor and good heat dissipation and all this for only a 5% increase of the price.

Probably the least impressive when you look at it. However, it is as efficient as the other BattleMasters and thinking the contrary would be dangerous.
However, it might lack a bit of personality to make it an appealing 'Mech.

its a mediocre design upgrade, the std fusion design is rugged it doesnt gain more firepower from the Ssrms, THe Artmis on the LRm 5 is a waste, it doesnt help much, it would be better to drop on missle system in favor of the other...

The King Crab KGC-0000G (G for Gauss) is the refit for the rare King Crab Assault Mech that still exists in AFFC Regiments.   Never a top on the list of machines to rebuild the changes included Upgrading the Large Laser to an ER Model, and replacing the AC/20s with Gauss Rifles and the fitting of Double Heatsinks to offset the Heat gain of the mech.

Battle History:

The King Crab KGC-0000G were deployed to frontline AFFC RCTs after the end of the Clan Wars.   They supplemented the new built King Crab KGC-0000Fs and the original KGC-0000s.   The first combat the King Crab KGC-0000Gs saw was in the Clan Jade Falcons incursion to Coventry.   Which they preformed well.   They were later deployed to the Clan Smoke Jaguar Occupation Zone as part of Operation Bulldog.

A deadly conversion of a "classic" Assault 'Mech. You were able to keep the 'Mech's high amount of firepower without loosing too much of its original look.
Great upgrade and better than the Blakist/ComStar model used on Tukayyid.

Overview:

With the comming of the Clans, the decoding of the Helm Memory Core, and the admittance of Wolf Dragoons as being from the Clans much of LOSTECH was rediscovered by the inner sphere.   One of these items that returned was the Gauss Rifle.   The Prime Contractor for the brand new Gauss Rifle was purposely located deep in Federated Suns Territory to protect it from Clan Incursions.   The Poland Main Model A Gauss Rifle being produced on New Styris was late getting to Coventry during Project Refit, the first shipments arriving in 3052.   Most of the designs for Project Refit had been finalized and so the Gauss Rifles sat not being incorpated.   Also to the Gauss Rifle's disadvantage was that many of the Engineers at the Coventry AFFC Depot didn't know what the Gauss Rifle was capable of or the requirements that it needed to function on a Battlemech.   Once this was sorted out the advantage of the Gauss Rifle was determined and Project Gauss was launched, in order to increase the number of Gauss Rifles in the ranks of the Armed Forces Federated Commonwealth.

Capabilities:

The Zeus ZEU-6TG (G for Gauss) is the for the standard Zeus ZEU-6T.   The Large Laser was replaced with an ER Model, the AC/5 was replaced with a Gauss Rifle, the rear Medium Laser was removed to upgrade the LRM-15 with Aretmis IV FCS, the armor was updated to Ferro-Fibrous and the 17 Single Heatsinks were replaced with 10 Double Heatsinks.

Capabilities:

Originally intended as a heavy attack/support 'Mech, the addition of sophisticated Dalban Micronics comgear enabled the Marauder to function as a command vehicle in areas of heavy fighting. It continues so today, with Marauders often appearing in command lances.
Though its twin PPC arrangement is reminiscent of more traditional 'Mechs such as the Rifleman and the Warhammer, the Marauder's unique, more versatile ball-and-socket arm joints give it a faster traverse rate and a greater field of fire.
The Valiant Lamellor armor is another of the Marauder's singular features. Less massive and better able to distribute heat and kinetic energy than other armor types, the secret of its manufacture has been lost. In the present era, the Marauder is one of the few 'Mechs to use it. As blasted patches have to be replaced with conventional armor, some Marauders now resemble metallic patchwork quilts.
The Magna Hellstar PPCs that provide the Marauder's main armament are of an advanced design, compact enough to be carried in the 'Mech's arms and durable enough to withstand the heavy shocks of hand-to-hand combat.
The Marauder's secondary armament, a GM Whirlwind autocannon, was added almost as an afterthought. The cannon's linkage to the chassis has been troublesome (see below), and the gun itself tends to be rather temperamental, often refusing to function at crucial moments.
The 'Mech's unusual profile makes it a harder target than other manlike 'Mechs, but some design flaws occasionally plague Marauder pilots. The tenuous linkage between the autocannon and the main chassis is a frequent target, because a successful hit would disable the autocannon. The same applies to the rotation ring between the chassis and the leg assembly. Numerous Marauders now bear improvised armor around these vulnerable areas. Another source of trouble is the Dalban HiRez tracking system located in the Marauder's forward section, which severely limits the operator's field of vision. These problems are comparatively minor, however. The Marauder remains a potent battlefield weapon.
In addition to its command duties, the MAD-3R operates as a dangerous heavy-attack vehicle, outclassed only by 'Mechs such as the Stalker and the rare BattleMaster. Capable of shooting lighter 'Mechs to pieces and battling hand-to-hand with more heavily armored opponents, the Marauder is usually deployed in a heavy shock unit, along with Warhammers and Thunderbolts. Its PPC and autocannon also enable the 'Mech to lay down a long-range barrage before actual combat.

A bit underarmored but for one MAD-5S (the upgrade that is the most similar to this design), you can get two MAD-3G.

The Marauder MAD-3MG (G for Gauss) is the Coventry Depot modification for the Marik Standard Marauder.   The Marik Marauder-Ms converted were Marauders captured during the Succession Wars but either Steiner Regiments or Sarna Regiments and pressed into service.  These Mechs were salvage so they were in pretty  bad shape and the IRAN work done on them improved them greatly, but still there are very few on the TO&E.  A popular mech the Marauder has seen many battles and so the Depot had their work cut out for them and their hands full doing this design.   The changes though basic are thunderous, the Armor Package was updated to Ferro-Fibrous, and standardized for all Marauders.   The Large Laser were replaced with ER Model, and the Heating system got Double Heatsinks. Finally the Autocannon Five with it trouble some Feed system was reworked when a Gauss Rifle was put in its place.

The Bounty Hunter
This MechWarrior's bright green Marauder, decorated with credit symbols, is a much-feared sight in the Successor States. No one knows The Bounty Hunter's real name, and few save the men who fight alongside him have actually seen his face. What is known is that he is a ruthless mercenary, as infamous for his treachery as for his fighting skill.
Neither the lives of his men nor those of innocent civilians stand in The Bounty Hunter's way as he destroys enemy 'Mechs for the prize money or to sell for spare parts. The credit symbols decorating his 'Mech are a reflection of his own true nature.

Overview:

With the comming of the Clans, the decoding of the Helm Memory Core, and the admittance of Wolf Dragoons as being from the Clans much of LOSTECH was rediscovered by the inner sphere.   One of these items that returned was the Gauss Rifle.   The Prime Contractor for the brand new Gauss Rifle was purposely located deep in Federated Suns Territory to protect it from Clan Incursions.   The Poland Main Model A Gauss Rifle being produced on New Styris was late getting to Coventry during Project Refit, the first shipments arriving in 3052.   Most of the designs for Project Refit had been finalized and so the Gauss Rifles sat not being incorpated.   Also to the Gauss Rifle's disadvantage was that many of the Engineers at the Coventry AFFC Depot didn't know what the Gauss Rifle was capable of or the requirements that it needed to function on a Battlemech.   Once this was sorted out the advantage of the Gauss Rifle was determined and Project Gauss was launched, in order to increase the number of Gauss Rifles in the ranks of the Armed Forces Federated Commonwealth.

Capabilities:

The Orion ON1-VAG (G for Gauss) is the upgrade for the Orion without an LRM-15 Rack fitted.   During the refit process enough weight was saved to fit an LRM-10 Launcher with one ton of Ammo.   CASE units was fitted to the torsos.   The SRM-4 Racks were refitted as STreak SRM-2 Racks.   The AC/10 was replaced with a Gauss Rifle.   Ferro-Fibrous Armor skin was fitted, and Double Heatsinks replaced the standard model.

Battle History:

The Orion ON1-VAG were deployed to frontline AFFC RCTs after the end of the Clan Wars.   They supplemented the new refitted Orion ON1-VAFs and the original ON1-VAs.   The first combat the Orion ON1-VAGs saw was in the Clan Jade Falcons incursion to Coventry.   Which they preformed well.   They were later deployed to the Clan Smoke Jaguar Occupation Zone as part of Operation Bulldog.

Orion ON1-V has extra SRM-4 Launchers.
Orion ON1-VA has no LRM-15 Launcher.
Orion ON1-M is the new built Marik Version.

My main problem with this 'Mech is my perception of the SSRM-2 as an inferior weapon when compared to the SRM-4 (maybe you should work on a version with SRM-4 linked to Artemis IV).
However, the added firepower at long range of the LRM-10 is a great change (and my proposal would mean throwing it away) and will provide a deadly surprise to those who think they are facing a "normal" VA.

Really something ahead of its time (Marik Phoenix design?) but I still have troubles with the Streak SRM-2.
But I must confess, I never liked the Steiner Thunderbolt as it was lacking the feeling of a Thunderbolt. I am afraid that your nice upgrade will fall prey to my dislikes.

Very effective upgrade with the equipment at hand at the time. Added bonus is that the old weaponry were simply replaced with better similar weapons, making it easier for the MechWarriors to adapt wich is a nice feature when you're rushing something to the frontline.

Nice upgrade to the T-bolt. A bit reminiscent of the Marik Phoenix upgrade, a taste of things to come.

The ECM is a nice touch as is the firepower of the GR. A nice upgrade and a deadlier version of a venerable 'Mech.

So the AFFC in order to keep more units at the front instructed their Depots to repair and retrofit as much new tech into existing battlemechs as soon as possible. Coventry which was being used as a rallying point against the Jade Falcon Clan and was thought to be the a target started to refit what ever mechs were on planet. The AFFC Depot on planet kept it quick and simple limiting the refits to basic electriconics, heat sinks, some weapons, and upgrading the armor to ferro-fiberous.


Capabilities:

The Coventry Refitted Archer called ARC-2F (F standards for Field Refit) does nothing to improve its alreadt impressive firepower. It was set up to improve surviviblity and coolant properities. With the double heat sinks it has better heat reduction capibilites and with the ferro-fiberous armor brought it up to maximum levels of protection.


Configuration / Variants:

There is the Archer ARC-2SR which is the field refit for the Old Lyran Commonwealth version of the Archer.


Battle History:

They fought in the second half of the Clan Invation of 3052 and were later retired to Militia and Resevere units.


Deployment:

Accurate records of the Archer ARC-2F are hard to keep pace of, as must units still carry them on the books as Archer ARC-2Rs.

The Archer ARC-2KF (F for Field Refit) is the upgrade to the few Kurtia Model Archers that the AFFC had in sercvice with various Davion and Steiner Regiments. Those that passed through Coventry had their Large Lasers replaced with ER Models and Double Heatsinks installed. Ferro-Fiberous Armor was added to improve the surviviblity of the machine. A simular conversion is being done by the DCMS.

Through a techincal exchange program that was started after the Outreach Conference, the KungsArmee and DCMS have started upgrading their Archer ARC-2Ks to the ARC-2KF Standard.  The DCMS work is done by Luthein Armor Works, and the KungsArmee is done by GKT Corp.  The Archer ARC-2K also served as the prototype for GKT Corp for new claimed tech, that would lead to the Acher ARC-5R.

There is the Archer ARC-2SF which is the field refit for the Old Lyran Commonwealth version of the Archer.

There is the Acher ARC-2F which is the field refit for the standard Archer.

Overview:

With the coming of the Clan Invation it caught most militaries in the inner sphere off guard. As the Waves of the Clan Invation wore on more and more the old mechs proved obsolete. So the AFFC in order to keep more units at the front instructed their Depots to repair and retrofit as much new tech into existing battlemechs as soon as possible. Coventry which was being used as a rallying point against the Jade Falcon Clan and was thought to be the a target started to refit what ever mechs were on planet. The AFFC Depot on planet kept it quick and simple limiting the refits to basic electriconics, heat sinks, some weapons, and upgrading the armor to ferro-fiberous.


Capabilities:

The Marauder MAD-3DF (F for Field Refit) is the Coventry Depot modification for the Davion Standard Marauder. A popular mech the Marauder has seen many battles and so the Depot had their work cut out for them and their hands full doing this design. The changes though basic are thunderous, the Armor Package was updated to Ferro-Fibrous, and standardized for all Marauders. The PPCs and the Large Laser were replaced with ER Models, and the Heating system got Double Heatsinks.


Configuration / Variants:

The Marauder MAD-3F is the field refit of the MAD-3R. The Marauder MAD-3LF is the field refit of the MAD-3L. The Marauder MAD-3MF is the field refit for the MAD-3M.


Battle History:

Used in the Clan Fighting of 3052.


Deployment:

Deployed along the Cland Jade Falcon and Steel Viper Front.

The space is used to the max, the firepower is impressive and frees the Marauder from all ammo problems while retaining the original spirit.

One of the stranger refits of the Marauder, but a good redesign of its weaponry. Seeing these gives me some impetous to refit my own Griffins to the next tech level.

Another good refit, but running and firing all ranged weapons gives the mech an inconveniant 4 heat, though I can see little in the way of simple mods to fix that problem.

It has a ton too much AC ammo for my taste, and too many heat sinks, which could be replaced with more medium lasers, but the MAD-3MF is good for alpha strikes (even if I'm not a fan of them).

Probably the most heat efficient variant so far.
The only major problem that I see is the lack of CASE system to protect the 60 shots for the UAC/5

The Orion ON1-VAF (F for Field Refit) is the upgrade for the Orion without an LRM-15 Rack fitted. During the refit process enough weight was saved to fit an LRM-15 Launcher with Artemis IV FCS and one ton of Ammo. CASE units was fitted to both side torsos. The SRM-4 Racks were refitted as STreak SRM-2 Racks. The AC/10 was replaced with a LB-10X Autocannon. Ferro-Fibrous Armor skin was fitted, and Double Heatsinks replaced the standard model.


Configuration / Variants:

The Orion ON-1F is the upgrade for the Orion ON1-K. The Orion ON-1VF is the Upgrade for the Orion ON1-V.


Battle History:

Fought the Clans during the 3052 Fighting.


Deployment:

AFFC Regimental Combat Teams along the Clan Front.

Besides the usual too much streak ammo, it's a good mech, but the only distinguishing point of the ON1-VA compared to other Orions was the lack of an LRM rack, and you removed that, so now the ON1-VAF is a clone of the other refits you're pumping out.

The Refit entailed replacing the Large Laser with an ER Large Laser, the SRM-2 with a Streak SRM-2, an Artemis IV FCS was added to the LRM-15, A CASE was added to the Right Torso, an Extra Ton of LRM ammo was added, the Heat Sinks were replaced with Double Heatsinks, and the Armor was dropped to 12tons of Ferro-Fibrous Armor, bringing the skin up to maximum.

The Thunderbolt TDR-5SEF is the refit for the TDR-5SE. The Thunderbolt TDR-5SSF is the refit for the TDR-5SS.

Probably your best Thunderbolt refit, though I still think it's oversinked

A nice upgrade giving it increased firepower and range but allowing it to use it to the best.
I would drop the SSRM for 2 Small Pulse Lasers and one more Double Heat Sink. As I feal SPL are better than SSRM at taking care of infantry and BA (although you have to allow them to get closer).

Overview:

With the coming of the Clan Invation it caught most militaries in the inner sphere off guard. As the Waves of the Clan Invation wore on more and more the old mechs proved obsolete. So the AFFC in order to keep more units at the front instructed their Depots to repair and retrofit as much new tech into existing battlemechs as soon as possible. Coventry which was being used as a rallying point against the Jade Falcon Clan and was thought to be the a target started to refit what ever mechs were on planet. The AFFC Depot on planet kept it quick and simple limiting the refits to basic electriconics, heat sinks, some weapons, and upgrading the armor to ferro-fiberous.


Capabilities:

The Thunderbolt TDR-5SSF (F for Field Refit) is the refit for the Thunderbolt TDR-5SS. The refit entails replacing the PPC with an ER PPC, the SRM-6 was replaced for two Streak SRM-2s, Guardian ECM Suite, Beagle Active Probe, and TAG Gear was added, and 21 Heatsinks were replaced with 17 Double Heatsinks.


Configuration / Variants:

The Thunderbolt TDR-5F is the refit for the TDR-5S. The Thunderbolt TDR-5SEF is the refit for the TDR-5SE.


Battle History:

Saw fighting in the 3052 Clan Fighting.


Deployment:

In service with AFFC Regiments along the Clan Front.

I can't see the TAG or BP being too helpful, and it's over sinked, but otherwise it's solid.

Remove the streaks and TAG then put the SRM6 back in and add artimes4 FCS and thats all i would do. But thats me. Not you.

A really nice upgrade. The added precision of twin SSRM-2 seems at first sight superior to the initial SRM-6 and the added electronics will provide a good help when things get close and personal (which is always the case against the Clans).
A really good upgrade of the Thunderbolt.

Overview:

With the comming of the Clans, the decoding of the Helm Memory Core, and the admittance of Wolf Dragoons as being from the Clans much of LOSTECH was rediscovered by the inner sphere.   One of these items that returned was the Gauss Rifle.   The Prime Contractor for the brand new Gauss Rifle was purposely located deep in Federated Suns Territory to protect it from Clan Incursions.   The Poland Main Model A Gauss Rifle being produced on New Styris was late getting to Coventry during Project Refit, the first shipments arriving in 3052.   Most of the designs for Project Refit had been finalized and so the Gauss Rifles sat not being incorpated.   Also to the Gauss Rifle's disadvantage was that many of the Engineers at the Coventry AFFC Depot didn't know what the Gauss Rifle was capable of or the requirements that it needed to function on a Battlemech.   Once this was sorted out the advantage of the Gauss Rifle was determined and Project Gauss was launched, in order to increase the number of Gauss Rifles in the ranks of the Armed Forces Federated Commonwealth.

Capabilities:

The Marauder II MAD-4G (G for Gauss) is the refit for the monsterous Marauder II Assault Mech.   This design was often feared and envied in the inner sphere.   The FEDSUNs factory that turn this out experienced a boom when it was first offered for sale, with Wolf's Dragoons approval.   The Dragoons even consoulted on the retrofit.   Now it need to be refitted to fight the Clans.   This was a keep it simple stupid approach since it was already a solid design, the PPC   were upgraded to ER Models and the Large Laser was replaced with a Gauss Rifle.   Finally the Heatsinks were upgraded to double heatsinks.

Battle History:

The Marauder II MAD-4g were deployed to frontline AFFC RCTs after the end of the Clan Wars.   They supplemented the new built Marauder II MAD-4Fs and the original MAD-4As.   The first combat the Marauder MAD-4Gs saw was in the Clan Jade Falcons incursion to Coventry.   Which they preformed well.   They were later deployed to the Clan Smoke Jaguar Occupation Zone as part of Operation Bulldog.

Variants:

Marauder MAD-4A the baseline model used by the Wolf's Dragoons and Baraber MArauders, some were percured by House Davion from the Chassis Factory on New Valencia.
Marauder MAD-5A the new production versions for Wolf's Dragoons and Baraber's Marauders.
Marauder MAD-4F an upgrade of the MAD-4A done by Conventry AFFC Depot and Wolf's Dragoons (Project Refit).
Marauder MAD-4G an upgrade of the MAD-4A done by Coventry AFFC Depot and Wolf's Dragoons (Project Gauss).

Deployment

An accurate count is hard to keep, since they were converted quickly to be sent back up to the front by Coventry AFFC Depot and most AFFC units keep them on the books as Marauder II MAD-4A for security reasons.

I recommend making the missles rear-mounted so you can use them and torso twist to hit any backbiters with arm mounted weapons too, but otherwise it's fairly solid. Since using TAG means you can't fire, I'm puzzled as to why it's on a mech with so much firepower. Also, the Wolf's Dragoons make the Marauder II, not House Davion, and adding double heat sinks is more then a minor refit. Otherwise it's a good job.

Streak SRM 2? Really a strange weapon for such an assault design. This is the main default on this upgrade (furthermore when they are located in the legs).

Capabilities:

The Orion ON1-VF(F for Field Refit) is the upgrade for the Orion ON1-V which packs two SRM Racks. The changes went through basically simple. Among other improvements are software upgrades to improve the ability of the Targeting and Tracking System to cope with the weapon systems. The SRM-4 Racks were replaced with Streak SRM-4 Racks. THe AC/10 Class Autocannon was replaced with a LB-10X Model. The LRM-15 Rack recieved the Artemis IV FCS. Both side Torsos were CASEd. Ferro-Fibrous Armor was fitted as were Double Heat sinks.


Configuration / Variants:

The Orion ON-1VAF is the upgrade for the Orion ON1-VA. The Orion ON-1K is the Upgrade for the Orion ON1-K.


Battle History:

Fought the Clans during the 3052 Fighting.


Deployment:

AFFC Regimental Combat Teams along the Clan Front.

Considering this was made before project gauss was completed, it's just about the best Orion refit possible, though one ton of streak ammo can be swapped for another medium laser.

The Clint CLNT-1-2F (F for Field Refit) was done for the few Prototype Clint CLNT-1-2Rs that surfaced on Coventry. This lead to the Autocannon/10 being upgarded to LB-10X AC model, with two tons of ammo, and Ferro-Fiberous Armor being fitted then they were shifted to Garrison and Security Units.


Configuration / Variants:

The Clint CLNT-2-3F is the refit for the Clint CLNT-2-3T. The Clint CLNT-2-4F is the refit for the Clinte CLNT-2-4T.


Battle History:

Held back to Second Line Garrison and Security Duty during the 3052 Clan Fighting. They are still being used in this role.


Deployment:

In various Garrison and Security Units along the Clan Jade Falcon Border.

The Clint CLNT-1-2F is the refit for the Clint CLNT-1-2R. The Clint CLNT-2-4F is the refit for the Clinte CLNT-2-4T.

Odd refit here. Interesting to see something sport AC/2s, but I'm not sure this is the right design to sport two of them when it could use some extra armor and in-close firepower as well. Not much of a sniper, no jumps, and the Ferro Fibrous armor helps at least a little bit, but I think a different weapon package and additional armor would increase its use and effectiveness overall. Still, a decent upgrade.

Overview:

With the coming of the Clan Invation it caught most militaries in the inner sphere off guard. As the Waves of the Clan Invation wore on more and more the old mechs proved obsolete. So the AFFC in order to keep more units at the front instructed their Depots to repair and retrofit as much new tech into existing battlemechs as soon as possible. Coventry which was being used as a rallying point against the Jade Falcon Clan and was thought to be the a target started to refit what ever mechs were on planet. The AFFC Depot on planet kept it quick and simple limiting the refits to basic electriconics, heat sinks, some weapons, and upgrading the armor to ferro-fiberous.


Capabilities:

The Crab CRB-20F (F for Field Refit) was another strange conversion done in the Coventry Depot. This was done to the handful of Crabs that were passing through Coventry during the Year long lull in fighting on 3051-52. The Heatsinks were replaced with Double Strength models. The Large Lasers were upgraded to ER Models. Finally with the instillation of Ferro-Fiberous Armor it brought the protection levels up to maximum levels.

Several Raiding units attacted to AFFC Regiments during the 3052 Clan Fighting.


Deployment:

They were used exculsively in special raiding companies in attacted to AFFC Regiments. But that was for the very few that were in AFFC Livery.

This redo of the Crab is pretty nice. Can alpha w/o moving and stay heat neutral, its a literal laser zombie. Lots of armor, fusion engine, cavalry speeds, and can hit well at all ranges, this is a good one.
