Overview:

With the coming of the Age of the Omni-Mech/Battle Armor combination, the Maxim Heavy Hover Transport has not been a well-loved machine, although it DID see some upgrades, before the “Golden Century”.

Clan Willow Moth has attempted to breath some new life into this vehicle, by upgrading the frame to an Omni-Chassis, and allowing it to take on multiple roles.

Capabilities:

With the original upgrade, the Maxim saw little change in weapons, or capability. The SRM systems were exchanged for more reliable Streak launchers, and with weight saved by exchanging the engine for a fusion-core, a pair of Lasers were added. The cargo-bay was also expanded to complement the new Clan military structure.

The more recent, “Omni” model of the old Maxim chassis has seen many of the standard upgrades that are predominant throughout Clan Willow Moth. Many of the Variants take advantage of their recent acquisition of ATM technology.

The Primary Variant surrounds itself in ATM 3’s, to match the capabilities of the original upgrade, while only needing one Ammo-Bay to supply all of the missile systems. The “A” Variant is a Medium to Long-Range assault unit that does not have to worry about ammunition, and supply. Variant “B” is a “missile-boat”, using three of the new Heavy ATM systems. The last Variant is interesting in that it is a Cargo-Hauler. It is capable of hauling 20 tons of equipment, protected, or up to 70 tons, unprotected. This shows that Clan engineers have thought about the vehicle’s duties, both during, and after battle.

Deployment:

Clan Willow Moth still utilizes some of the “Standard” upgrades within its police/infantry Clusters. The Cargo bay is usually segregated, in these models, to accompany a standard Three-ton Foot Platoon, and two tons of criminals, and/or confiscated equipment.

The new Omni-Maxim is being distributed through Clan Willow Moth’s Battle Clusters. It has been well received, considering the reputation of the original.

Clan Hell’s Horses has shown only moderate interest, in this design.

Overview:

A popular scout vehicle within all of the houses, long before the exodus, the Pegasus Scout Hover Tank has served for half of a millennium. Before the "Golden Century", the Clans upgraded this valuable asset.

Capabilities:

The overall design has remained nearly unchanged, although everything has gotten better in one way or another.

With the change in engine from internal combustion, to fusion the top speed and maneuverability of the Pegasus has improved.

Another improvement was in the armor coverage. An exchange of the standard armor, for Ferro-Fibrous, has added greatly to the survivability of the vehicle.

The weaponry has also seen an upgrade. The SRM racks have been exchanged for the more conservative Streak system, while also adding another medium laser, and upgrading both to ER standards. These improvements have made this scout vehicle into a formitable killer.

To enhance its scouting capabilities, an Active Probe/ECM package has been added. With these improved electronics, the Pegasus-C can sneak up on hidden enemy units to surprise them with a preemptive strike.

An interesting addition, there has been additional tonnage allocated towards additional crew members. This was added to allow the Pegasus-C to run scouting patrols on its own for days at a time. One crew would control the craft, keeping the border patrol, while the other rested. With the fusion engine, there was no longer a need for the craft to return home, for refueling.

Deployment:

The Pegasus-C was well loved by many of the Clans, before the OmniMech took center stage. Now, these scout vehicles are mainly found in the Clans Hell's Horses and Willow Moth.

It is a good Clan update. Sufficient fast and armored, it is a cheap (for Clan tech design) and efficient scout.
