5.9.2008   Jordan Weisman Founds Smith & Tinker; Buys Licenses Back Electronic Rights to FASA Games
Posted By : Skyhigh Go!
I happened upon this article thanks to a Google Alert for mentions of Battletech.  The article is a talk with Jordan Weisman called "Weisman: Practice 'Planned Parenthood' With Your Game Franchises".  As I was reading through I ran across this little blurb:

[Jordan Weisman] has now formed media company Smith & Tinker, and has bought licensed the electronic entertainment rights to FASA-birthed franchises like
Shadowrun, Battletech and Crimson Skies back from Microsoft.

Read the article @ Gamasutra

Smith & Tinker

CORRECTION:
It turns out that Jordan Weisman has not *bought* the rights, he has licensed them.

Only more heat-sinks if you have more weight. And as I described in the fluff it's a RGM, or Range-Grouping Mech, in which case it has plenty. Believe me I'd like to put more, but to do that not only would you need the above mentioned extra weight, but space, and with all that you'd have to start thinking of trade offs. Such things as less armor for weapons, or less armor for heat-sinks. I firmly believe that if you start sacrificing armor protection for any of the above that you end up with a high priced pile of scrap at the end of a majority of your fights. Learned that the hard way. Hope that helps. Play on and watch your six out there. Many thanks for the review.
