Though produced only in moderate numbers, the Battlemaster is a relatively common sight on the battlefield, due to its durability and versatility. The design is tough enough to withstand a great deal of punishment and valuable enough to make it worthwhile for techs to go to great lengths to patch it back together. Introduced as an upgrade to the much venerated design, the redesign process was personally overseen every step of the way by YI's CEO, Kayoto Yamata. Having piloted Battlemasters in the beginning of his military career, Lord Yamata has a vested interest in seeing the Battlemaster become an even more deadly war machine.
This new redesign ha shown great promise, breathing life back into an older design. While the weapons were the main focus of the upgrade the XL engine lightens the frame considerably to allow for the newer weapons. A brand new Gauss Rifle replaces the older style particle cannon, drastically reducing the heat build-up so common tro this design. It's component of lasers wass overhauled and replaced with 3 Diverse Optics Roseguard Extended Range Medium Lasers and 3 Opterics Medium Pulse Lasers. However in order to mount the newer lasers resulted in the removal of its Short Range Missile Launcher. This decision was looked upon favorably as it will no longer have to worry about a sudden ammo explosion crippling it! The redesign does find the mech mounting a Guardian ECM suite, apparently this was used in Lord Yamata's old modified Battlemaster, an idea which he incorporates here. Another brainstorm included in this design are a set of Jump Jets which allow it added mobility on the battlefield. All Combined together, this mech is truly one to watch out for now!
Having gone through its testing and trial phases with flying colors and has entered into the extensive field testing phase. This new Battlemaster has seen combat several times and has come out ahead almost every time. The results so far have been very impressive.
Notable 'Mechs and Mechwarriors
Having piloted a Battlemaster for much of his career, Kayoto Yamata himself, took the prototype out for its first test run. The grin on his face when he finished was brighter then a sun and gave all the feedback neccesary to show his approval of the design. As a tribute, the first prototype was named in his honor; Cato Yama

A different combo using a XL engine and a heavier firepower than the original.
I would perhaps try to keep it as far away as possible (XL engine) and so drop the Pulse Lasers.
In your configuration, Alpha striking might not be necessary, freeing some tons.
It is a bit strange to mount both pulse and ER lasers. I'm more partial to keeping the lasers all the same type to maximize the ranged firepower. Plus you can give the GR some more ammo, for a command 'Mech I usually go with at least 3 tons of ammo to keep your commander out of combat, or at least in close.
