Overview:

On Variant overweight: 6D has 0.5t more armor, 6S has 12.5t FF-armor (224 points) 2 less heatsinks, thus the unvalidation in the variants screens.

Celsius Engineering has refitted many old Taurian Marauders, Warhammers and Thunderbolts with double heatsinks, new weaponry and electronic systems, and ferro-fibrous armor. As the Marauder was an old favourite of the Celsius Engineering team as well as the TDF, it did not take long before an updated version began to come off the Taurus factory lines.

The MAD-6 series is based on the MAD-3 refits, but is built from the bone and up, allowing for the use of endo-steel internals.

All variants pretty much continue the Marauder tradition of a large laser or PPC coupled with an underslung medium laser (pulse or regular) in one or both arms, and a single, large torso-mounted weapon. In addition, they have more armor than the old Marauders.

This revamp of an old Concordat favourite has naturally become quite popular with the Taurian Defence Force, as the old Marauders were.

Configuration / Variants:

The C variant uses an ERLL coupled with an ML in the left and an ERPPC in the right arm.
Mounted on the familiar torso actuator, one can find an LB10X-AC, fed with two tons slug and one ton cluster ammo.
15 double heatsinks sink most of the waste heat in long-medium range fighting, though heat management is will be necessary in after an alpha-strike.

The D variant is an all-energy configuration, with ERLLs and MPLs in the arms. In the torso, an ER PPC and a lone ML are mounted.
20 double heatsinks lets the pilot fire his long-range energy weapons with little concerns for heat. For close-range fighting, the three smaller weapons are heat-efficient alternatives.

The R variant builds on the old MAD-3R, the AC/5 replaced with its Ultra-speed counterpart, and the cellular ammo compartment holds 2 tons of ammo.
Two ERPPCs are mounted on the arms, but only one of the arms mount the complementary ML.
16 double heatsinks sink almost all waste heat at most ranges for this variant.

The S variant is based on the MAD-5S, a common sight in the Inner Sphere armies.
ERLL's and and one ML are housed in the armsand a Gauss rifle is mounted on an actuator on the back of the 'Mech. It can draw on 3 tons of ammo, and 13 double heatsinks are installed in this variant.

The T variant is something as unusual as a Marauder with missiles. ERLLs with underslung MLs are found in both arms.
The right torso mounts an LRM-20 launcher, similar to that of the Archer's.
The rack is controlled by an Artemis IV FCS, and can feed upon 3 tons of ammo for eighteen full-blown salvos. 16 double heatsinks are needed to keep this variant cool.

The Y variant is a ComGuard-exclusive variant. The 'Mech is built on Celsius' plant on Tukayyid, while the rotary autocannon is fitted later on by ComStar techs.
The arms house ERLL and ML's and there is enough ammo space to hold four tons.
16 double heatsinks work to keep the 'Mech in full operation, even when the autocannon fires at full speed together with both ERLLs.
This variant does not exist in large numbers, but it is somewhat popular amongst some of the "old-school" ComGuard pilots, fans of the Marauder but disliking XL-engines.

Deployment:

The 6C, S and R are scattered around in various TDF units. A small amount of 6S and Y variants exist in the ComGuards. Liao military officials are currently reviewing the 'Mech, and a contract from them is possible in the near future.

I like your 6R varient for its resemblence to an awesome it also would pack a powerful punch and with double heat sinks in addition to the AC-5 heat would barely be a problem

Overview:

ComStar Technical Readout - MAD-4S - 0708-3054

Desperately trying to stand their ground in the face of the Clans, the besieged houses rushed to send advanced technology to the front lines.
Amongst this equipment one could find Gauss Rifles, Missile Fire Control sytems, advanced Autocannons and Ferro-fibrous armor.
These items were often found in many different combinations on the various machines of war until our Blessed Order gained a pause for the Inner Sphere, allowing the House militaries to catch their breath and achieve a fair level of standardization in some of their units.
These records show two examples of a fairly common and simple Lyran Marauder refit. It is not a simple field refit - the BattleMech will have to be taken in to a full-fledged 'Mech depot as to have the advanced heatsinks and ammunition storage constructions installed.

Both variants use twelve tons of Ferro-Fibrous armour and the massive Poland Model A Gauss Rifle with three tons of aluminium slugs.
The first variant - derived from the MAD-3M - uses ten double heatsinks, which is sufficient for the regular Large and Medium Lasers, though repeated alpha-striking is not recommended.
The second variant features two entirely new lower-arm weapon pods. Two Extended- Range Large Lasers now make up the rest of the loadout. The two Medium Lasers were exchanged for two addition double heatsinks, necessary if the pilot wishes to fire the two lasers regularly.

Capabilities:

While mounting more and better armour than the original Marauders, the MAD-4S is still not the most armoured heavy 'Mech around.
The Gauss Rifle amplifies the long-range focus of the Marauder, though with two Large and Medium Lasers, the MAD-4S still has a decent short-range bite.

The MAD-4SE however, relies only on the two Extended-Range Lasers in case of an enemy within the Gauss Rifle's short minimum range. While not being as notoriously inaccurate at short range as LRMs or PPCs, the Gauss Rifle does have problems when its targets are close.
The 4SE is in its prime when distanced from its target, and field commanders should make sure they don't deploy the 4SE without the companionship of 'Mechs more efficient at close-range combat.

Battle History:

The fearsome Gauss Rifle, able to dish out concentrated long-range fire like no other weapon in the Inner Sphere, quickly became popular and desired.
Malvin "Jinx" Evans, well-known drunkard in certain bars on Solaris VII, claims to have placed "at leassht six Gawsh shlags" in clan cockpits on the Lyran front. While this is doubtable, the number of near-intact salvaged Clan 'Mechs did increase slightly after the spheroid Gauss Rifle arrived at the frontlines.

Deployment:

The 4SE variant became a relatively common Lyran Marauder refit, and many of these still serve with various units in the Federated Commonwealth.

If anyone wonders what on earth MT is on about, this 'Mech was for .Dragon's MAD refit challenge, and I posted it with the comment "Here's the Lyran refit, the one I thought MajorTom would make. "

LOL, well done. I considered doing a 'mech like this, but I didn't want to drop the PPC's for a Steiner 'mech (felt they'd want it all on one mean machine =P), so I went with mod'ing the Marik version, since it has the most spare tonnage to play with. Plus their 3050 version, the 5M, is AWFUL, so I wanted to give them something decent.
