Overview:

This version of the Draken built Blackjack is designed for use in the ARDC, Clan Wolf in Exile has purchased a cluster to rebuild their forces lost in the bloody refusal war against Clan Jade Falcon, however, these are slowly being phased out of service or are being relegated to garrison duties. This version, named after the area that uses it the most, is christened the ARDC. It's armament, while limited without backup weapons, is a powerful pair of Rotary 5 class autocannons with 4 tons of ammunition.

Capabilities:

The ARDC version of the blackjack is less mobile than the Draken original 2DB, but its firepower is undeniable. Capable of firepower equal to three LRM 20 racks, at the risk of jamming, is nontheless something remarkable considering the small size of the mech. However, the mech does run the risk of an ammo explosion, and it has the added vulnerability of an XL engine. However, Draken Productions has deemed the risks well worth it.

Configuration / Variants:

Since this mech is a variant in itself, it officially has no variants, although there is another Draken Blackjack that uses Rotary 2-series autocannons instead of the 5-class used on the ARDC.

Battle History:

One of these Blackjacks was piloted by a Kell Hound pilot during a raid against a jade falcon world. It claimed a mad cat, although it was damaged rather badly, the clan pilot was shocked by the firepower thrown forth by the blackjack and he requested that the mechwarrior who had bested him in combat take him as bondsman. The clan pilot now pilots another Blackjack for the Kell Hounds.

Deployment:

The BJ-ARDC sees limited use with the Ripperjacks, it is mainly used in the Arc Royal Defense Cordon where its superior technology can be put to excellent use against the clans. It is also seeing limited deployment by House Davion, however, the Enforcer Omni is the preferred mech. Two companies are also fielded by the SLDF.

yeah, this thing can shred stuff up at short and medium ranges, but what if one of the cannons jam? I guess your screwed then. but i still like it, it retains a blackjackish feel

Overview:

The Battlemaster 5X was designed in the late 50s as a resdesign of the once popular battlemaster 1G. It replaces the entire weapon array with a new, far superior arsenal. Replacing the PPC is a new, Draken built, state of the art gauss rifle mounted in the right arm. Mounted in the left arm is a large pulse laser. Secondary weapon systems come in the form of a laser array consisting of 4 extended-range medium lasers in the right and left torsos. Also in the left torso is a streak SRM 6 rack with one ton of ammo protected by case. Powering the engine is a 340 fusion XL engine.

Capabilities:

The battlemaster 5X is a capable assault mech, with lots of firepower complemented by the protection 14.5 tons of Draken Dragonscale ferro-titanium armor.

Configuration / Variants:

No known variations at this time.

Battle History:

Lieutenant JJ Mcauley of the 7th Falkiir guard in a recent battle piloted his battlemaster with precision skill, claiming a stalker, panther, catapult, masakari, 2 scorpion tanks, and a drillson hovercraft. He also 'persuaded' another scorpion to surrender.

Deployment:

The battlemaster 5X currently sees deployment among the elite Kuritan Sword of Light regiments, Davion guards, Ripperjacks, and also the 7th Falkiir guard. Other factions using limited numbers are the Com Guards which deploy 4, house Marik, 2 that ended up in Steinar hands somehow.

A little early for ER medium lasers, but other than that the weaponry looks good. CASE is a waste of tonnage on XL engines, other than they give the pilots a chance to punch out. its the XL that bothers me. A Battlemaster is supposed to be near indestructable, and the XL is just to fragile to fit.

Overview:

The MAD-8R is what the designers of the 2X were trying to accomplish with the primary version of the MAD-2X. The MAD-8R is easily capable of tearing apart other mechs with ease, and considering the fact that it has more or less the maximum armor coverage any mech can have using standard armor, it will easily outlast its competition. The mech is armed to the teeth with a pair of 50 millimeter rotary autocannons and an extended range particle projection cannon. Backing up these weapons a pair of ER medium lasers mounted under the autocannons in the arms, and a 4-pack streak short range missile launcher. A 300 standard engine, which increases its survivability compared to other modern assault mechs which pack XL engines. The mech, in keeping with Marauder II tradition, wields a 90 meter jump capability. To ensure that the mech can keep up sustained fire with its twin rotaries, seven tons of ammunition was divided between the right and left torsos, both locations are protected by CASE.

Despite the overall effectiveness of the mech, its first major battle proved a disaster. In keeping with Draken Productions fashion, a company of these mechs was put together and sent on a raid. The raid's target was a weapons depot in the Jade Falcon occupation zone, the raid was launched after the Steinar trade ban was lifted, and since the ban was lifted, relations with House Steinar jumped up considerably, and they granted the Drakens permission to launch a raid from their territory.

At first, the raid was going well, the hovercraft had deployed their infantry, and weapons from the depot were being stockpiled into the transports and whatever cargo space could be found within the hovercraft. However, the Maruaders, which had thus far done an astounding job of holding off, as well savaging, enemy mech units, soon found themselves experiencing severe electronics problems due to the prolonged exposure to the stress of combat. The electronics on all 12 of the mechs went more or less to hell, and left the mechs useless. The Draken aerospace fighters and dropships tried frantically to lift off the mechs, vehicles, and infantry, but the clanners had already taken advantage of the situation and were tearing them to pieces. The fighters were soon set upon by Falcon air forces and the dropships made a hasty retreat to the jumpships. The raid was a failure, but had exposed a severe problem with the mechs. The problem has since been fixed, and the mechs have performed amazingly since then.

Capabilities:

With immense firepower, superb mobility, and suvivability, the MAD-8R is easily one of the most versatile, non-omni mechs created. It has surpassed any other Draken mech built so far in combat. The only problem with the mechs is its current level of availability, with the main production facility still under construction, and only a single one assembly line factory building them on Castamere, the deployment has suffered significantly.

Configuration / Variants:

Their are no variants of the 8R.

Battle History:

The most significant showing of the MAD-8R was against ex Commonwealth (Commonwealth of Periphery worlds, conquered by the Draken Confederation) forces and those who were once influential and powerful leaders within the Commonwealth who sided with the Drakens, but became angry with them once their power dwindled, launched an attack on the Confederation's capital of New Toronto. A lance of elite Ripperjack mechwarriors took their 8Rs out into the city during the heaviest of the fighting and managed to put down an entire battalion of Commonwealth forces before the last of them were killed.

Also in a battle against the ex Commonwealth troops, Corporal Ethan Sanders piloted his marauder to deadly effect, managing to muster a battalion of mechs and lead the battalion's stand against a full regiment of enemy battlemechs at the Castamere production line until reinforcements arrived. Ethan Sanders, now a Major, currently leads the 2nd battalion of the Castamere regulars.

Deployment:

Once the manufacturing plant dedicated to the production of this mech is constructed, it will see widespread deployment among Draken and House troops alike. There are also talks with Houses Davion, and Kurita, to construct small, two line plants, within their space for the production of these mechs. However, while House Steinar has requested construction of factory for the manfucature of spare parts, they are only requesting a limited number of mechs. Also, rather shocking, although unconfirmed, reports of WoB deployment of these machines has raised the concern that ROM agents may have stolen the design and are manufacturing it, likely within Marik space.

Sweet and nice Marauder II. Legal if you add the endo steel that you can fit. I like it, good job.

Overview:

The enforcer was the first mech that Regard Verian ever owned, and in 3058, after reviewing technical data on omnimechs, he decided he would bring the Enforcer into the modern world of omnimechs. Starting out with the primary weapon should be, he, and the primary design team of Draken Productions, settled on the LB-X 10 autocannon, this was later replaced (and many of the old versions switched to the new ones) with a 5 series rotary autocannon. The autocannon is supplied with 3 tons of ammunition that is protected by cellular ammunition storage equipment. The secondary weapon is a draken produced flasher extended range large laser. The other two backup weapons are an extended range medium laser and an ER small laser. Powering the mech is a 250 XL engine, while Draken Productions wanted to stay away from the bulky, vulnerable, and costly XL engine, to attain the speed and armament they wanted, there was no other way. To protect the mech 10 tons of Draken Dragonscale ferro-titanium armor is wrapped around the chassis. To round out the design 5 jump jets present it with a 150 meter jump capability.

Capabilities:

The Enforcer OX is a powerful design. The omni chassis allows its armament and equipment to be customized easily and quickly while the production versions themselves are powerful designs. The increased maneuvaribility over the original enforcer piloted by Regard Verian, however, the newer enforcers built by House Davion have the maneuvarability.

Configuration / Variants:

The enforcer comes in 5 standard versions, Primary, A, B, C, and D.

Battle History:

During the Fed-Comm civil war numerous Enforcers saw intense action, they were also used by the Confederate militia in their war against the commonwealth of periphery worlds (simply referred to as the commonwealth).

Deployment:

The Enforcer was originally a Ripperjack exclusive mech, however, House Davion soon saw battleROMs of the new Draken Enforcer and immediately placed a contract for large numbers of them to replace many of their enforcers that they were building. To accomodate them, Draken Productions constructed a new mech plant near New Avalon, the plant was completed in late 3060 and for the past 7 years has been mass producing enforcers for House Davion. Unfortunately, during the Fed-Comm civil war many Enforcers, along with many other mechs, were destroyed, but it was a mixed blessing for the Drakens as Davion needed desperately to rearm and looked to the Draken Enforcer as a way to rebuild their military strength.

Note: The two tons of LBX ammunition are because one is slug ammo and the other is cluster ammo.

Overview:

The venerable Blackjack has long been a favorite of Regard Verian. Verian's good friend, and original commander of The Ripperjacks, Johnston O'Riley, piloted a blackjack. Verian's nephew, Ethran, first started out piloting a blackjack that had been a gift from Verian. And when House Marik called upon Draken Productions for a new multipurpose medium mech, Verian chose the Blackjack.

Starting more or less from scratch, all the electronics and parts of the original 1DB Blackjack were ripped out and replaced with new, state of the art Draken produced parts. The weapons array was upgraded to ER variants, and the internal structure was ripped out and replaced with a brand new endo steel frame. A larger 225 engine replaces the 180 engine used in the original and an additional jump jet was added. To round out the mech an additional half ton of armour was added.

Capabilities:

The new Blackjack can perform a variety of duties, and other variants, such as the 2E, are specialized for roles such as anti-aircraft duties.

Configuration / Variants:

There have been numerous Variants of the Draken Blackjack, the newest (still in experimental stages) is an omnimech. Others, such as the Liao and WoB variants, employ the secretive stealth armor, while a version built for Clan wolf in exile and the arc royal defense cordon use the new rotary autocannons.

Battle History:

During the fighting on Huntress, a Davion Blackjack piloted by Sergeant James Cander savaged a jaguar Vulture. He then used his mech's superior mobility to take down a sluggish clan Daishi that simply could not shoot at the smaller mech because its maneuvaribilty kept it behind the Daishi at all times. James Cander later died when his dropship was shot down.

Deployment:

The new Blackjack was originally built for House Marik, but after a battalion was shipped they cancelled their orders and cancelled their contract with Draken Productions all together. Left with Blackjack producing plants and a large excess of the mech, it was quickly absorbed into The Ripperjacks while the rest were shipped off to both House Kurita and House Davion. In 3059, under contract with House Liao, a new version was built, and in 3060, another version was drafted for the Word of Blake. After WoB/Draken relations spiralled downwards, many of the Blackjacks that WoB had obtained were destroyed in the fighting, others that had been meant for them were sold off to the Comguards or used by the Drakens to equip the new Confederate militia regiments.

I also find this design appealing. A total upgrade that adds speed, armor, and firepower truely is sweet. The fluff was cool too.

heheeh i love the fluff. hero kills a daishi, then dies when his ship is shot down. and such is the irony of life... any how, ive always liked the blackjack (playing MPBT and fading was oh so fun with it), and i like blackjacks with big energy weapons even more (like the BJ-3 and the BJ-1DB, the obvious predecessor to this fine refit), and youve fixed the Blackjack's biggest problem: lack of speed. Now it moves like a medium mech should while still packing the double large double medium laser combo im so fond of
